Effective September 27, 2024, we will no longer be using the employee KIOSK for absences. Absence Management (Frontline) will be the new platform we are transitioning to for all leave requests. Click Here for more details.

Work Related Injury

If you experience an injury while on the job, please adhere to the following steps:

1. Seek Treatment

  • For Non-Urgent Injuries: Seek first aid in the school clinic or visit a healthcare provider for necessary treatment. Staff are encouraged to use Concentra as they provide services for work-related injuries. You can find the closest locations here. Concentra also offers a Telemed option as well for less serious injuries.
  • For Serious Injuries: If the injury is life-threatening or requires urgent medical attention, call 911 immediately. Afterward, notify your Supervisor or Human Resources as soon as possible.

2. Reporting the Accident

  • Complete a Staff Accident Report: You must complete and submit an accident report within 24 hours of the accident. The accident report form is located in Public School Works.
    • If you do not submit an accident report, your worker’s compensation claim may be denied and you may be financially responsible for your medical bills.
  • Notify Your Supervisor: This includes injuries that may seem insignificant but could develop into a more serious condition. Please notify your supervisor as soon as possible.

3. Provide Documentation

  • Submit documentation to Human Resources: If you seek treatment from a healthcare provider for evaluation, even if the injury does not initially seem severe you must submit documentation.
  • <If Restrictions are Given: If your medical provider determines you need restrictions to return to work, you must submit the documentation to Human Resources so we can determine if we can accommodate your restrictions.

4. Follow-Up

  • Follow-up care must be provided by a BWC-approved provider. Failing to do so may place financial responsibility on the employee.  All Concentra locations are BWC providers.
  • We may request follow-up information to ensure your recovery and determine if any workplace accommodations are needed.
Our top priority is ensuring the safety of everyone. If you are injured, please seek proper care and follow these procedures. If you have any questions or need assistance with any portion of the process, feel free to reach out to Human Resources.
